The Morehead-Rowan County, Clyde A. Thomas, Regional Airport has been approved for an Honor Flight for any WWII veteran on June 19, 2021. VFWs have been contacted and five individuals have been found who qualify for the flight, but we are searching also for Korean Conflict vets. The flight on a B25 Bomber is free to veterans of the WWII and Korean Conflict era. If anyone knows of a veteran of the WWII and Korean era who may be interested, please contact Jack Holley, Jr.. FBO, at phone number 606-780-0085, or visit the airport at 1800 Rodney Hitch Blvd, Morehead, KY. We invite community support to show appreciation for their service and those who are manning and supporting the flight.

Chapter 1525 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will hold a Young Eagles Event on Saturday, July 10 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Morehead Rowan County Clyde A Thomas Regional Airport (weather permitting). Youth ages 8 to 17 can enjoy a free flight around Morehead area with a qualified pilot in a Cessna 172 or similar aircraft. Youth must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

Chapter 1525 supports the RCSHS aviation program and has recently sponsored student flight training scholarships up to $10,000 for exemplary students interested in pursuing aviation careers.
