$70,000 State Funded Runway End Identifier Light Replacement Project

The Morehead-Rowan County Airport Board is pleased to announce a $70,000 state funded project to replace the Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL). TEM Group, Louisville, KY will perform the scheduled work in September. Garver, the Airport’s Engineer of Record, designed the project and will oversee its implementation. Funding by the Kentucky Department of Aviation and State Transportation Cabinet was authorized in the Spring 2017. The total project costs includes engineering, bidding and contractor costs. Tim James, Airport Board Chair, says this project will correct the intermittent lighting problems we’ve recently experienced with the runway lights. We are very appreciative of the Kentucky Department of Aviation’s assistance in helping us identify the problems and provide full state funding to correct it.
